Christmas is coming

Merry Christmas everyone!

It has been a long few weeks but plenty of festivity and I am very much looking forward to my christmas break.

So where am I with my knitting?

Elfin is progressing well - the second sleeve is half done. I managed to knit the 3 frills last Saturday and once you get past those it grows quite quickly.

I don't think I have mentioned my red jumper I thought I ought to have for christmas. I am doing the Debbie Bliss sweater with cable raglans from book 4. It is knitted in Debbie Bliss merino chunky and I am using shade 700 which is a red. I am still hoping to wear it on christmas day and am optimistic that it is a possibility.

I have done the back and am on to the main body of the front. The back took me a couple of evenings so if I finish the front tonight and tomorrow. I have Sunday and Monday to knit 2 sleeves and Tuesday to sew it up.

In between I still have cards to write and presents to wrap but hey one gets there in the end!

For those that have visited Polly you will understand what I mean if I say Pollymade me do it!

You may recall my trip to Ali Pali where I bought some beautiful bamboo yarn. It has stayed wrapped in the bag since but this week I got chatting to Polly about shawls and we looked at lots of patterns and I thought mmmmmm I could do a shawl with my bamboo. Well I think Polly had cast on and was on her way before I had even printed off the pattern.

Anyway joking apart it will be fun. I love the peace shawl and I love my bamboo yarn so hopefully I shall love the end result!

Not sure when I will start - perhaps over the christmas break!

Welcome back - now get cracking with the red raglan, you will need it up in Yorkshire if it snows.....

So it is all your fault that Polly is doing that shawl - I keep looking at my Bamboo and wondering what to do with it, am I dreaming, or was mine thicker than yours? I know I compared mine with somebodys and it was different. And Polly said mine would only make a shawlette. I actually wondered about a baby cardigan or something. But not if it is hand-wash!

This was novel. I wish I could read every post, but i have to go back to work now... But I'll return.
