Another Scarf

I am knitting another scarf!

This one is knitted in Noro Iro shade 9.

Noro scarf

The pattern calls for 2 x 100g balls and is knitted on size 8mm needles. I have knitted up the first ball but paused because the scarf has a fringe and I need to cut the lengths for the fringe before I start knitting the second ball. Once I have all the lengths for the fringe I can just knit until all the yarn is used up. The scarf is knitted in garter stitch.

Another book!

This week I received a copy of Emma King’s new book 25 bags to knit. This a lovely book with bags to knit for all sorts of occassions and they will make great christmas presents. I am thinking of doing one for my sister - she has asked for the new Phil Collins CD for christmas. That would slip beautifully in to one of the little bags - food for thought over the week-end AND I may even have the yarn already in my "little" collection to knit the chosen bag.

Happy Knitting.

Scarf must be nice mindless knitting, I have a pattern for a simple pull-on hat using one skein of Silk Garden, in the picture it looks as if it is done in the same colour as your scarf!

I have done the bag called Sherbert for d.in-law, her choice, the bag is plain black with the frill and pom-poms in bright red, and have done the pink with heart for grand-daughter, and have sorted out yarns for a stripey one for another grand-daughter. The knitting is quick and easy. it's the sewing up and finishing bits that take the time!

I was talking to Monica (assistant in JL) who knitted the backs of all the bags in that book, she has yet to see what the fronts look like!
