Alas, knit and Jones
Rumour has it
Catherine Zeta Jones has become obsessed on the set of her new film — with knitting PONCHOS.
The Hollywood superstar has so far made 15 as Christmas presents and plans to knit 20 more.
Family and friends will be groaning when they unwrap gifts from the actress and find they have all got the same thing.
Catherine Zeta Jones is in Mexico filming a follow-up to Mask Of Zorro and has found herself with too much time between shoots.
I have been doing some Christmas knitting this afternoon but not a poncho. I decided to make the Hartland Hottie from the Jaeger Assessories Book. I am knitting the Hottie in Chamonix.
Here is the front.

Hartland Hottie
The pattern has 2 hearts in it. I chose to do a purl stitch instead of putting a bead in to form the heart shape. I am surprised at how quickly this knitted up and the front has used 35g of yarn. The pattern calls for 3 balls of Chamonix but at present rate I shall use less than 2 balls. I have had the chamonix yarn for a while now having purchased it in John Lewis sale a while ago. Since I have 5 balls I should be able to make a couple of these Hotties and may even try beads in the second one.
I haven't decided on the recipient yet!

I've never used Chamonix, since I heard it sheds quite a lot - but I have often looked at it and thought how lovely and soft it was. Do you find it sheds fluff everywhere?
