It must be beautiful.

Yesterday was the funeral for Anjanette and Louella killed in the Upton Nervet Rail Crash.

It was a lovely service and the music and hymns were very fitting for the occasion.

Anjanette was beautiful in so many ways and that came across very much yesterday throughout the service. Anjanette had 2 phrases she often used - "it must be beautiful" and "if you haven't got anything nice to say don't say anything".

Yesterday was also Children in Need and Terry Wogan and Gaby Roslin always put on a good show on TV for the evening.

I decided to cast on something which to me is rather a lovely garment and one which Anjanette would have thought "beautiful".

Noro Scoop Neck Cardigan

This is from the first Debbie Bliss Noro Collection and is knitted in Noro Silk Garden. I am using shade 34 which is a mixture of greens and mauves just like the picture.

The sleeves are knitted from wrist to top in the usual way but the back and fronts are knitted sideways.

Here is the back.

I am making good progress on the right front so that should be finished this evening and I may be able to make a start on the left front.

We had some of this today.

Sleet.

It did begin to settle at one stage but not for long. I was so hoping to go outside and pose for a photo in my Colinette Comfy Cosy Coat but the sleet turned to drizzle - oh well maybe another day!

I got the buttons for my cardigan today - they are a cream colour so I hope they will look ok - well if they don't they only cost 16p each so I can buy another set!

I also bought 2 hot water bottles - I have finished one cover and it is waiting to be sewn up.

I also have the zip for York so maybe tomorrow I shall bring out my sewing up needle!

Happy Knitting.

I have often thought of doing that Noro one, I saw it made up, think it was in Debbie's shop, and tried it on - I did find it a bit short though? The one I saw had beautiful antique gold buttons on it, which Debbie said cost more than the Noro.....

Can't wait to see the coat....

"if you haven't got anything nice to say don't say anything".
A very beautiful sentence, wish I could live up to that..

Hi Anna

I'm glad you have some beautiful memories of your friend and her little girl.

Your cardigan is looking good so far - I love this pattern but haven't got round to it yet myself.
