I fell in love with this design when I first saw the patterns for the new RY Classic yarns. I ummed and arghed shall I or shan’t I and yes it was the frills that were the worry. The pattern was then featured in the April issue of Simply Knitting and again I mulled it.

Back of Ruffle
Then during the first week of Wimbledon I made a decision – grabbed a ball of yarn and cast on. Then Henman and Murray got beaten and Wimbledon knitting dried up. However Ruffles has now gathered pace. There are lots of stitches on the needle. I have knitted 140 rows x average 160 stitches on the needle so that equates to some 30,400 stitches knitted too date so I tell myself I shall be able to cope with the frills despite having 702 stitches on the needle at one point. Obviously time will tell but at the moment I am itching to wear this…..
I then remind myself that when I knitted Elfin which had frills knitted in kidsilk haze I said never again was I knitting frills – too many stitches.
I love the RY Classic yarns – lets see what the next season brings. Not long to wait now.

Brave girl for daring to do more ruffles, it will be worth it though, I think it is fabulous. You will have to post your progress as you may persuade those of us who are wavring over this to come down one way or the other.
What colour are you doing it in? My monitor makes it appear a lavender grey.
