A baby is born

7.32pm on Tuesday 8th November and he is gorgeous - Alexander Harvey.

I visited mum, dad and baby on Thursday afternoon. It was a surprise visit as I happened to be near the hospital so I didn't have my little handknits with me. Instead I bought Debi a copy of RED magazine and 4 Ferrero Rochers!

I plan to visit again tomorrow / Tuesday and shall take Alexander his little jacket and hat then.

Lucky is knitted from Kim Hargreaves Pipsqueaks in Rowan All Seasons Cotton.

Cable and Moss Stitch Hat is knitted in Debbie Bliss's baby cashmerino and the pattern is taken from Debbie's book which accompanies the yarn.

For now it is back to Spray. The second sleeve to knit and them I am on to sewing up!

Happy Knitting.

not so LUCKY

Firstly I knit the buttonhole on the right front when it should be on the left front - I am knitting Lucky for a boy.

Secondly I run out of yarn.

Thirdly I discover the left front has been knit on 26 stitches and the right front on 28 stitches.

SO

I ordered more yarn and this arrived yesterday.

I ripped the left front to redo on the correct number of stitches and put the buttonhole in.

I need to buy a button.

Was this not supposed to take a jiffy - 10 days I have been knitting this "incy wincy" jacket. The baby is due on Friday and I still have a bonnet and some booties to knit. Thank goodness I have a days holiday from work on Friday!

This was grown in our very own garden.

Home Grown Pear

No association with knitting I know other than I munched away at it whilst reading through Knitscape!

Lucky should soon be complete so unless the baby is born this evening Lucky will be ready in time. Then it is on with the bonnet.

Happy Knitting
